I guess if you are reading this page you have seen my images and you want to know more about who took them.
My name is Kane Jarrod Thompson, however "Thomo's Photography" didn't sit well hence the name Kane Jarrod.
I have over 17 years experience as a professional photographer. I completed an Advanced Certificate in Applied Photography at NMIT in 1993. Thanks to an offer by one of my lecturers to assist with some wedding photo shoots, I started my career as a wedding photographer.
I will never forget the first wedding as that assistant, looking down the view finder of a medium format Bronica camera and seeing the wonderful composition and thinking this is what l want to do. Today, over 1500 wedding photo shoots attest to my love and dedication to beautiful wedding photography.
Over the years you learn what makes great photographs, (the 5 L's), location, location, location, lighting and listening to the clients requirements. These are all aspects that as a professional photographer should be second nature. Unfortunately sometimes these aspects are forgotten in the larger wedding photographic industry. I work through the details during the initial consultation, I personally photograph your wedding and l work with you on the production of the album etc a totally hands on approach from start to finish. Of most importance l take the relaxed approach to wedding photography. Why add further stress with a frantic wedding photographer.?
I welcome the opportunity of discussing with you your wedding requirements and developing a package that suits you and your budget. The "packages" described in the fee pages of this web site are indications only and are designed to give you an idea of what you might spend. A "package" assumes everyone's needs are the same which is obviously incorrect, so feel free to design a package that suits your budget and does justice to your wedding day.
I would also welcome discussing other aspects of photography such as portraits and commercial projects with you.

Michelle graduated from Photographic Imaging College in 1999. I First meet Michelle back in July of 1998. As with all the Universities l have connections with, I was more than happy to help her out with an assignment.
What stood out for me the most from that first meeting was not the confidence and enthusiastic attitude, but more the ease in which we spoke. Whilst many value our skills technology with the camera, these run a distant second to that of our communication skills. Our Industry and work is far more a PR exercise than just producing a photo. If the client feels relaxed, then this is evident in the photgraphic work that ends up on display.
Michelle is great fun to be around and most importantly is interested in the "Story" of others. Every clients individual needs and ideas are taken on board to help her work to her full ability as a photographer and designer in producing a unique and tailored piece. Her work is truely creative and inspiring as many many clients willl testify. Whilst many clients see and want what others have received in the past, Michelle always tries to go that step further in producing an individulal piece that justifies the time spent with the subject. She truely compliments the experience at Kane Jarrod Photography..
